VIDEO: DEPECHE MODE & DIOR Secret Garden - Versailles' x Enjoy The Silence

So you might have seen a version of this video on the TV or the internet lately. I love the Dior art direction and combination of the classic Depeche Mode track 'Enjoy the Silence'. We featured 'Enjoy The Silence' as our OldSkool Track of the Day back in January but to be honest I prefer this contemporary video version. It's not often that an advert has the power to hold my attention for over 3 minutes but this evoked an ethereal post new romanticism feeling in me perfectly combining the old with the new. It's not hard to see why the Dior video has over 6 million hits already.

OLDSKOOL TRACK OF THE DAY: Pharcyde - Runnin' (Prod. By J Dilla)

As we promised in an earlier tweet, here is the stunningly beautiful summer tinged groove from the Pharcyde, released in 1995 and taken from the amazing album 'Labincalifornia'. The track was produced by J Dilla. I had actually forgotten about this classic track but was reminded again on Saturday night when I heard it in a club I was in in Paris. Sadly the crowd didn't seem that fussed (it's Paris) but it brought back some great memories for me.

Fusing techno, disco, house, minimal and dub is not an easy feat. Alright it is an easy feat, but the difficulty lies in making it actually sound good. John Daly has pulled this out of the bag in his latest LP entitled 'Sunburst' to full effect. I feel a Balearic blitz coming on.
